MBBS & BDS Admission for Foreign Students - Academic year 2024/2025 | Bangladesh
|
Looking to study MBBS or BDS abroad on a budget without compromising on quality? Bangladesh offers an incredible opportunity for foreign students, especially from Sri Lanka and other SAARC countries, to study in well-established government medical and dental colleges. Here’s everything you need to know about the admission process for the 2024–2025 academic year. The Government of Bangladesh, through the Directorate General of Medical Education (DGME), has announced the admission of foreign students to MBBS and BDS programs for the academic session 2024–2025. This initiative supports international cooperation in health and medical sciences and aims to promote inclusive global education. The Government of Bangladesh has reserved 221 seats for the foreign students of which 117 seats are allocated for South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) countries and 99 seats are allocated for nonSAARC countries, 5 reserved seats under Bangladesh government’s Scholarship program.
Bangladesh has become a popular destination for international students pursuing MBBS and BDS degrees due to its high-quality education, affordable tuition fees, and globally recognized medical curriculum. Government and private medical colleges in Bangladesh follow an English-medium syllabus that aligns with international standards, making it easier for foreign students to adapt. The country offers a safe, culturally familiar environment for South Asian students, especially with many colleges accommodating diverse international communities. Additionally, the presence of WHO-recognized institutions and the opportunity to practice in various countries after graduation make Bangladesh a practical and attractive choice for aspiring medical professionals. Tuition Fees: For Government medical and dental colleges, students from SAARC countries will be required to pay tuition and other fees at the rate charged to a Bangladeshi student. Students from other countries will have to pay $5000 (five thousand) per year in addition to the tuition fees charged for Bangladeshi students. If students can’t pass the exam in due time, additional charges have to be paid.
